Opening Two Nutrition Units in Jadaa 6 and Jadaa 3 Camps

On the 1st of June 2018, DAMA opened Nutrition and Immunization Units within Primary Health Center at Jadaa 6 camp and Nutrition Unit at Jadaa 3 Camp in Qayyarah Sub-District in Nineveh (about 60 km “35 miles” south of Mosul), with Support from UNICEF and in Coordination with DoH Nineveh, DAMA is providing Nutrition services (focusing on prevention and reduction of acute malnutrition in the vulnerable children age (6-59 months) in the Camp, and management of malnutrition for children under 6 months. Screening for malnutrition), IYCF (Infant and Young Children Feed Counselling activities through baby friendly space container) and immunization service (routine immunization to Protect all eligible girls and boys against vaccine preventable diseases with especial attention to polio and measles) in Jadaa 6 Camp and Nutrition Services in Jadaa 3 Camp (include management of Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) for children 6-59 months). Health education and health promotion activities will be conducted through the social mobilization staffs in Both camps
