The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Protects and Assists people affected by armed conflict and other situation of violence. The ICRC also seeks to prevent hardship by promoting and strengthening the humanitarian law and championing the universal humanitarian principles.

As a Neutral, impartial humanitarian organization, the ICRC has been active in Iraq since 1980 and in Kurdistan since 1991, carrying out protection and assistance activities in favor of victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence.
