 A donation from the Taiwan government, UIMS (the United Iraqi Medical Society) for Relief and Development, with cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Environment of Iraq /Health Department of Salah Aldine opened a Mobile Hospital.  The hospital will be operated with funding by UN agency. The Mobile Hospital’s location will be in Salah Aldine province to provide services to a large number of IDPs. A number of delegates attended the ceremony of the opening from the local government of Salah Aldine. The Mobile Hospital, contains a number of units such as Dental unite, Examination room, Gynecologist’s room, pharmacy, laboratory, in addition to the patient care unit  and others.

Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM): NRC distributed 68 RRM kits (emergency food, water, buckets and hygiene items) to 58 families who recently arrived in Debaga camp from Qayyarah, Hawija, Bijil and Mosul. NRC also provided 1,025 RRM kits to 955 families who arrived in Khazer and Hassan Sham camps. Education: 4,751 students attended catch-up classes and psychosocial support activities at NRC’s School Support Centre in both Hassan Sham and Khazer camps.  Shelter: NRC delivered 1,200 non-food items (NFIs), such as matrasses, blankets, heaters, hygiene items and kitchen equipment to families in Shoura sub-district, close to Mosul. Tuesday 17 January: At least 120 people were wounded and 52 killed following today’s bombing by the Nigerian Army in an internally displaced persons camp in Rann, Nigeria, according to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). “This large-scale attack on vulnerable people who have already fled from extreme violence is shocking and unacceptable,” says Dr Jean-Clément Cabrol, MSF Director of Operations. “The safety of civilians must be respected. ACTED Mosul Response Rapid Response Mechanisms (RRM) Since the beginning of December, ACTED RRM team distributed RRM kits to a total of 2,175 families (11,497 individuals). ACTED team operated in both camps (Qaymawa, Garmawa and Nargizilia camps in Ninewa) and newly retaken villages (Al Fadhliyah, Sumaqia and Derek, Orta Krab, Al Meghfera): 59% of ACTED RRM assistance targeted beneficiaries in camp locations. Over the reporting period, ACTED distributed in total 1,495 immediate response rations (IRR) of food 1,456 hygiene kits, 859 dignity kits, 545 baby kits, and 2,689packs of water.
