Food and NFIs support to newly-displaced families During the last week, Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) continues responding to people newly displaced from Mosul corridor and from areas closer to the city itself. IRW’s team distributed 500 food parcels in Sewdinan camp. The distribution team also distributed 1000 food parcels in Anbar camps as follow: AL Bo Jasem, ALBo Rahal, ALZohoor and ALMala'ab. GBV support to IDPs in Kirkuk IRW with support of UNFPA, in Kirkuk, Laylan, yahyawa and Nazrawa camps provided Psycho-Social support to 34 women and 121 females have attended awareness sessions on GBV. In Iraq, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, as people displaced from their homes by violence face their third winter living in harsh conditions. More than three million Iraqis are currently displaced by the conflict (IOM) and while many have found their way to displacement camps, others are living in schools, mosques, churches and in unfinished buildings. In addition to the lack of access to healthcare, displaced populations also suffer from the psychological and emotional scars of war and many people still fear for their safety.  Meanwhile, more people are being forced to flee their homes as a result of intensified fighting in Mosul and Hawija areas. The international medical organisation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has opened a new maternity clinic in Tal Maraq that will be officially inaugurated on 18 December. Women in Tal Afar district, Ninewa governorate, now have access to reproductive health services to ensure that they can deliver their babies safely. The ongoing conflict and the lack of functioning healthcare structures in the Tal Afar and Mosul districts are preventing the population from accessing healthcare. Most people need to travel over 100 kilometres to urban areas such as Dohuk and Zakho to seek medical care. Rapid Response Mechanisms (RRM) Since the beginning of November, ACTED RRM team distributed RRM kits to a total of 2,674 families (14,141 individuals). ACTED team operated in both camps (Zelkan, Garmawa and Nargizilia camps in Ninewa and Tazade Camp in Baybukh, Sumaqia and Derek in Ninewa and Shariya in Dohuk): 68% of ACTED RRM assistance targeted beneficiaries in non-camp locations.
