ACTED Sulaymaniyah: Cash and E-Vouchers Programming In partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), ACTED has been implementing direct cash assistance in Sulaymaniyah Centre and food assistance through e-voucher programming in Kalar, Chamchamal and Darbandikhan districts in Sulaymaniyah governorate. Both modalities provide each individual with 20,000 IQD (equivalent to 15 USD) per month, through SCOPE cards. To date, ACTED’s cash assistance programming has reached 5,883 families (33,156 individuals). Beneficiaries’ SCOPE cards are topped-up on a monthly basis. Beneficiaries can then redeem their cash through the Money Transfer Agent in Sulaymaniyah Centre. Through e-vouchers, ACTED has provided food assistance to 4,033 households (23,101 individuals). Since October, MAG activities in areas formerly under ISIS control have expanded to include a Mosul response.  The current lines of effort are: Mosul Preparedness & Response – clearance, risk education and survey RE and clearance of IDP camps, reception centres and screening sites MAG teams have responded to 13 areas to date. These include the Kakhurta, Nergazilya, Hassan Sham, and Kahreez Reception Centers as well as the Nergazilya, Amalla, Zelkan, Tal Aswad, Bakura, Qana Zhdarva, Bakure, Mam Rasham, and Bildash Camps. Heartland Alliance International (HAI)  along  with the Higher Council for Women Affairs (HCWA) will host the Launch of the FGM Prevalence Study in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The launch is scheduled to take place on 7 December 2016 in Erbil. HAI in partnership with UNICEF and HCWA conducted the first official scientific study on FGM in KRI in 2015. The study documents the FGM rates among girls age 4-14 years in Sulaymaniayh, Dohuk, Erbil and Halabja to provide a better understanding of the extent, potential causes, effects, behaviors and trends related to FGM.

Wars are dramatically altering and affecting lives around the globe, especially those of children. In Iraq, children have been significantly affected by violence in recent years, and have often been the direct targets of extremist acts intended to cause maximum civilian casualties and terrorize communities. The distribution of violent images and videos on social media has placed the image of children caught in the middle of these conflicts at the forefront of the world’s collective consciousness and priorities. Security challenges, violations, displacement, and war with Daesh are still in the forefront of the current reality in Iraq. Food and NFIs support to displaced families Over the last week, IRW's team distributed 750 food parcels to 3951 individuals in Debaga camp. The distribution team also distributed 250 kids school bags in Debaga camp. Further, 190 food parcels distributed in AL Bou Jar camp, in Anbar governorate.  Protection with food for non-Syrian refugees Islamic Relief Worldwide with support of UNHCR handed 13 EVI cash assistance to Palestinian refugees in Baghdad and 2 EVI cash assistance to other non-Syrian refugees in AL Dewanyah - Qadesyah governorate.  GBV support to IDPs in Kirkuk IRW with support of UNFPA, in Kirkuk, Laylan, and Nazrawa camps provided Psycho-Social support to 58 women and 153 females have attended awareness sessions on GBV.
