PAX is organizing a festival for Minorities in Baghdad on October 23 and 24 in Mutannabi Street: Salam Baghdad. The festival will celebrate the diversity of Iraq and promote peaceful co-existence. Islamic Relief - Activity Update

In Kirkuk, Islamic Relief is implementing a WFP programme to distribute Food Rations to 16,000 IDP families. This programme has been ongoing for three months. On the second day of Eid, Islamic Relief started to distribute 1000 bags of fresh meat to the most vulnerable IDPs & host community in Erbil. Each bag contained 2 kg of lamb meat. In the Shaqlawa District in the governorate of Erbil, Islamic Relief also distributed 1000 bags of fresh meat on the second day of Eid. Moreover they distributed 805 bags of children clothes to the IDP families in Shaqlawa.
lmost 6,000 internally displaced persons have received core relief items, distributed by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in the city of Diyalla, East of Baghdad, ahead of the Eid holidays in Iraq, which ran from 4 - 9 October. Fighting has forced millions to flee their homes in Iraq since December 2014. “We made a real breakthrough and I am sure the IDPs are breathing a sigh of relief. Qandil has issued it's first newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is to raise awareness about the current humanitarian crises and the urgent needs of the extremely vulnerable communities that have, in recent years and months, settled in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in their search for refuge. The newsletter will shed light on the wide range of the humanitarian relief activities in the Kurdistan Region that the hundreds of QANDIL staff have been carrying with great support from the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to help the 1.8 million refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).Please find attached the newsletter below:
